PEP-PAC Challenge - A Message from Arvind Venkat, MD, FACEP
Dear PACEP Member:
As we come to the end of our PEP-PAC campaign, I want to thank you for your PACEP membership and dedication to our profession. Every day, emergency physicians in Pennsylvania care for anyone with any condition at any time. We do this regardless of ability to pay, social circumstance, or access to care in other venues. Emergency physicians are the true safety net for our communities.
Unfortunately, we face constant pressures on our ability to care for patients. Whether it is ill-conceived government regulations, well-intentioned legislation with unintended consequences, or outside stakeholders, including insurers, emergency physicians must confront forces that place undue burdens on our professional responsibilities. Only in our unity and engagement with government, payers, regulators, and the public can we ensure that our story gets out and outside forces do not impair our ability to provide excellent emergency care.
One of the most important ways that we engage with the political process is through our political action committee, PEP-PAC. We use these funds to support those elected officials who understand our work and support what is needed to effectively care for patients in the emergency department. Your PEP-PAC donation is an investment in our collective professional future.
Please donate at www.pacep.net. Thank you for everything you do to ensure all Pennsylvanians have the emergency health care system we need and deserve.
