PACEP Vaccine Statement
The Pennsylvania College of Emergency Physicians (PACEP) encourages eligible persons to get the COVID-19 vaccine and we strongly support efforts to increase vaccine production, distribution, availability, and administration across the Commonwealth. PACEP encourages being vaccinated with whichever vaccine becomes available to you first. The vaccines are safe and effective. Along with other public health measures including hand washing, physical distancing, and facemasks, vaccination is a critical step in reducing the spread of the virus that causes COVID-19. Vaccines can help us end this pandemic. We understand that not everyone will be able to be vaccinated immediately. We encourage our state and local health departments to provide the public with fast, effective and coordinated means of obtaining appropriate vaccination. Even after being vaccinated, we still recommend following CDC and Commonwealth guidelines. As our understanding of the virus and COVID-19 infections continues to improve and vaccines are more widely available, know that emergency physicians across the Commonwealth will continue to provide excellent emergency care to all Pennsylvanians, 24/7/365.
