About PACEP




The Pennsylvania College of Emergency Physicians (PACEP) is the voice of emergency medicine and emergency physicians in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Since 1971, PACEP has advanced quality emergency care and public health in Pennsylvania through education and training, through advocacy for patients, physicians, and the public, and through innovation in clinical care delivered in emergency departments across the Commonwealth.

Mission Statement

The Pennsylvania College of Emergency Physicians is the voice of emergency medicine in the Commonwealth and the leading advocate for emergency physicians and their patients.
 

The vision of the Pennsylvania College is to:

Advocate:
  • For the primary role of the emergency physician in the delivery of emergency medical care to all Pennsylvanians,
  • For the advancement of emergency medicine as an essential service in the health care system, and
  • For the promotion of public health in the Commonwealth;
Educate:
  • Emergency physicians and trainees in emergency medicine in Pennsylvania through innovative programs that advance the delivery of emergency medical care in the Commonwealth and
  • The public of the Commonwealth on the central role of emergency physicians in the delivery of emergency care;
Lead:
  • In the advancement of medical education and scholarship in emergency medicine in the Commonwealth,
  • In the professional development and wellness of emergency physicians, and
  • In the state EMS system through emergency physician expertise.

PACEP is the leading voice for emergency medicine and emergency physicians in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; to fulfill our mission of serving this diverse constituency, PACEP will integrate and embed diversity, equity, and inclusion into each of our core focus areas.

PACEP is committed to ensuring our leadership, members, and staff are diverse in identity characteristics, such as race/ethnicity, gender identity, and sexual orientation, as well as thought and experiences.

PACEP is dedicated to recruiting and retaining a diverse emergency medicine workforce that reflects the population that we serve.

PACEP supports equitable access to care for all Pennsylvanians, to reduce health disparities and ensure health equity across the state.

PACEP endorses the ALL EM DEI Statement, which strives to improve healthcare outcomes and fosters innovation.
