Physician Executive - Chair, Department of Emergency Medicine, and Service Line Leader
ChristianaCare, the largest healthcare system in Delaware is searching for a Physician Executive to serve as the Chair, Department of Emergency Medicine and Service Line Leader.
The Physician Executive will have a broad scope of authority and accountability for quality, value-based outcomes, workforce stability, financial vitality, and strategic direction of clinical services delivered by the Emergency Medicine (EM) service line (SL) across the health system in support of system strategy, operational performance, and organizational & SL goals.
Position Qualifications -Medical Doctorate Degree: M.D. or D.O., accompted by board certification in applicable specialty and ability to obtain licensure in Delaware is required. -MBA or master’s in healthcare administration preferred. -A minimum, five years of clinical practice experience. -A minimum, seven years of progressively responsible clinical leadership experience including experience leading direct reports including physicians.
Key Responsibilities ChristianaCare is seeking an individual who will continue to expand and enhance Emergency Medicine and Trauma Care leveraging innovative approaches to care while advancing health equity and health preparedness initiatives, and capitalizing on our best asset, our caregivers, whose expertise, and compassion make a difference in patients' lives every day.
-Responsible for high level engagement, satisfaction, and retention of clinician workforce. -Partner with operations directors to ensure efficient practice operations and successful ambulatory business models. -Responsible for recruiting and maintaining a diverse workforce that reflects the community served by the Medical Group -Responsible for strategic growth of appropriate clinical services that contribute to a successful service line business portfolio to support the strategic goals of the organization. -Establish service line goals and programming that support of system strategy. -Be accountable for service line-specific quality, safety, and value- based outcomes for both in acute and ambulatory settings. -Develop and maintain engagement with nursing, operational and essential/shared service leadership to achieve system and service line goals. -Develop and maintain meaningful, collaborative relationships with independent medical clinicians partnering with ChristianaCare to care for patients in our community. -Foster close collaboration with other Chief Physicians in the Medical Group to coordinate objectives, seek synergies, optimize efficiencies, and assure wise use of resources. -Direction/Supervision of all members of the EM Service Line.
