PACEP Dues Increase Notice

Dear PACEP Members,

Effective July 1, 2026, there will be a modest increase in PACEP chapter dues. This adjustment will appear when you complete your next annual ACEP/PACEP membership renewal. Please know that this decision was made thoughtfully and with careful consideration of both our members and the long-term financial health of the chapter.

As shown in the accompanying graphic, PACEP dues have not increased in proportion to inflation over the past several decades. More notably, there has been no increase in chapter dues since 2016 – a full decade during which we have achieved and maintained financial stability while continuing to advocate for and support emergency physicians across Pennsylvania.

Why an increase now? Beginning July 1, 2026, credit card processing fees associated with the chapter portion of ACEP/PACEP dues will shift to the responsibility of the chapter. These fees typically range from 1.5% to 3.5% per transaction. The upcoming dues adjustment is intended to offset these unavoidable processing costs, similar to fees associated with other credit card purchases.

PACEP members can help reduce these costs and directly support the chapter’s operating budget by choosing ACH/bank payment instead of credit card payment when renewing. ACH payments significantly lower processing fees, and switching is straightforward. Instructions for changing your payment method are available HERE.

We remain deeply grateful for your continued support and engagement. PACEP is committed to fiscal responsibility, transparency, and strong advocacy on behalf of emergency physicians across the Commonwealth. Thank you for being a valued member of PACEP.

Elizabeth Barrall Werley, MD, FACEP
PACEP President
